Electric buses in Gujarat get a boost with set up of a fast-charging network

Charge+Zone, a start-up company in Vadodara, Gujarat has developed an indigenous technology which can provide a fast-charging facility. This facility enables quick mobility of electric buses with fast-charging to the tune of 150kW.

The main component of this technology is chargeCloud, an IoT (internet of things) enabled charging management system. The system ensures well-managed fleet management and data capture on charger utilization and electricity consumption.

More than 100 charging points are already operational and the groundwork to provide fast EV charging network has already begun.

With the development of this technology, the company aims to raise and invest $100 million to install 1000 electric vehicle charging stations across India in the next three years.

However, it is highly important for the company to adopt global standards such as CCS2, CHADEMO, GB/T etc. and customize the performance of chargers as per the Indian conditions for the smooth functioning of electric buses.

Moreover, the company has also developed an application to deliver a smooth customer experience. Through the app, users can locate the nearest charging station, check the availability, reserve the slot well in advance, get a one-time password (OTP) and make a payment through a virtual wallet.

Thus, through this technology, Charge+Zone aims to enable the e-mobility of electric buses not only in Gujarat but also across the rest of the states and cities.
